Church Envelopes for 2022
Please call to the Parish office and collect your box of Church envelopes for 2022. Thank you all for your generosity always. Our experience during lockdown was that many parishioners continued to pay their Sunday offering using their church envelope and putting it in the postbox in the Church Centre. Others continued to contribute by other means and we are so grateful for that as it provided a steady stream of income during various lockdowns.
We especially ask you this year to consider signing up for church envelope if you have not already done so. We don’t know what the future holds in terms of further lockdowns. Using the envelope is safer as it minimizes the handling of cash and coin. Your contribution remains confidential, you do not have to be a tax payer to sign up for church envelopes. If you are a tax payer, we will not contact revenue on your behalf for a tax refund without your written permission. Please call to the parish office if you wish to sign up or would like more information. Monday to Friday 10am to 12 noon.
Bishop Fintan Gavin will make a pastoral visit to our parish next Sunday where he will celebrate 9am Mass in St. Mary’s, Knockraha, 10.30am Mass in St. Joseph’s, Little Island and 12 noon Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, Glounthaune. He will also formally entrust the pastoral care of our parish to its new parish priest Fr Damian who was appointed parish priest recently.
Parish Christmas Cards are now available from the parish office €3 each with proceeds going to our local St. Vincent de Paul, to Bishop Ryan’s charity in Malawi and to Aid to the Church in Need. The intentions of those who receive the cards will be included in a Triduuum of Masses on Christmas day.
On the weekend of the 11th & 12th December, we invite families to bring a toy to Mass. The toys will be distributed to families in need this Christmas. Please gift wrap the toy and put a note on the outside indicating whether it is for a boy or girl and the age of the child that the toy would be suitable for. More information in the coming weeks.
