Confessions for Christmas – after all Masses in our three churches next weekend.

Next Wednesday, the 8th of December, is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Mass in St. Mary’s, Knockraha at 10am, in Glounthaune at 12 noon and in St. Joseph’s, Little Island at 7pm.

Please call to the Parish office and collect your box of Church envelopes for 2022. Thank you all for your generosity always. Our experience during lockdown was that many parishioners continued to pay their Sunday offering using their church envelope and putting it in the postbox in the Church Centre. Others continued to contribute by other means and we are so grateful for that as it provided a steady stream of income during various lockdowns.

We especially ask you this year to consider signing up for church envelope if you have not already done so. We don’t know what the future holds in terms of further lockdowns. Using the envelope is safer as it minimizes the handling of cash and coin. Your contribution remains confidential, you do not have to be a tax payer to sign up for church envelopes. If you are a tax payer, we will not contact revenue on your behalf for a tax refund without your written permission.

Please contact Trish in the parish office if you wish to sign up or would like more information.

Parish Christmas Cards are now available from the parish office €3 each with proceeds going to our local St. Vincent de Paul, to Bishop Ryan’s charity in Malawi and to Aid to the Church in Need. The intentions of those who receive the cards will be included in a Triduum of Masses on Christmas day.

Next weekend the 11th & 12th December, we invite families to bring a toy to Mass. The toys will be distributed to families in need this Christmas.

Also, next weekend is an important weekend for our local St. Vincent de Paul as they will have their Christmas collection. Now, more than ever, they need your support. They continue to work tirelessly to help those in need in our parish and we can show our gratitude to them by supporting their collection next weekend.

A message to all our parishioners who like to get out and about for a walk and fresh air – Will you consider helping us to distribute Christmas timetables and envelopes to every home (approx. 3,200) in our parish this December. We have a number of people who have helped us with this task for many years and thankfully they still continue to do so – however, some additional help would be really appreciated. Please contact Trish in the parish office if you would like to volunteer or would like more information.
