Restrictions for Public Worship

From 26th December, Churches ‘may remain open for Personal Prayer’ but not for the celebration of Mass with a congregation (i.e. with no public presence).  The only exceptions to this are weddings (with 25 guests in attendance until 2nd January and 6 guests thereafter) and funerals which can take place with 10 mourners in attendance.

Masses will be streamed via the church webcam in Glounthaune Church so that parishioners can pray and stay connected.  Please click on the image of the altar on the right hand side of this page to view Mass. Please note that all Masses, both at weekends and on weekdays will take place in the Church in Glounthaune. There will be an extra Mass on Sundays in Glounthaune at 10am to take the place of the 9am in Knockraha and the 10.30am in Little Island. This arrangement will stay in place until current restrictions are lifted.

Personal Crib Visits: As churches are to remain open for personal prayer it will also enable people and families to visit the Crib privately.  This is encouraged.

Funerals: Up to 10 mourners can attend a Funeral Mass.

Weddings: Up to 25 guests can attend the celebration of marriage in a church until 2nd January and only six guests thereafter.

Baptisms: Baptisms already scheduled should be postponed.  However, if this is not possible they should only proceed with limited numbers of not more than six people (inclusive of parents and sponsors) in attendance. If you have any queries regarding a Baptism that is already booked, please contact Fr Ted Sheehan PP on 087 2033756.
